Yesterday was Devil Wears Prada 2 (Day). I went to see the movie with low expectations after listening to several reviews. I tell everyone it was enjoyable. I liked it but not because it was anything ‘groundbreaking’ but liked how they changed it up.
My initial intent was to read the book (yes, there was a sequel book called Revenge Wears Prada), and sadly I only got through the first chapter. The first chapter however, has Emily and Andy as co Chief Editors of a bridal magazine. My expectation going in was that the movie would follow somewhat of that storyline.
Without giving any spoilers, there were a few fun references to the original, but the storyline held true to the characters, who they become 20 years later, and where our society is going when it comes to magazines.
To summarize, I recommend watching the film. Do you have to see it in the theater? Probably not, but it was fun seeing it on a big screen, in Dolby Theater, with crisp sound and clarity.
