I canโt express enough how much joy I had from having my sister visit with my two great nephews, both 16 years old. Although every day was something to do, we had fun. We laughed, we loved.
Thursday, they arrived, and it was an easy day. We started with breakfast at Pork Store Cafe. then to the Golden Gate Bridge. We went to Landโs End, Palace of the Fine Arts, Ocean Beach.
Friday was the day at Santa Cruz. What a fun day. The boys had a lot of fun with the claw games, laser tag, rides, miniature golf and being on the ocean. My sister got a little too much of the ocean when she tried to make a hole to capture the water and the water ended up splashing her harder than she expected.
Saturday was Chinatown and North Beach. We had a nice little lunch at Hong Kong claypot and went to the Fortune cookie factory. There they allow you to add your own fortunes inside a Fortune cookie they make special for you. You could also buy all different sorts of already made fortune cookies. North Beach, we bought cannolis, and we had pizza.
Sunday was a chill day. I showed them Dolores Park. Had about eight friends show up to help welcome her. These are people who are my family here in San Francisco, who have done a lot with over the years. We laughed while I drank some wine.
My day was Alcatraz, Pierre 39, Girardelli Square. I canโt say Iโve eaten that much sweets in a very long time, but you just canโt help yourself with Girardelli Square. Itโs only the second time Iโve been to Alcatraz, the first being my sisterโs first visit in 2007. I think itโs one of my favorite things to do as a tourist, because of the history of the island.
There were some places that we didnโt get to go, but maybe thatโs for another visit. I really love San Francisco and love calling it home. I also love showing it off and all the glorious things that make San Francisco wonderful. The kids saw things that they never would see back east and what we call โonly in San Franciscoโmoments. Those moments are what makes San Francisco unique
